“The broadcast premiere of NBC’s “Nashville Star†proved a bit off key. The sixth season of the reality singing competition, moving over from USA, drew low but not awful ratings last night.
“Star†averaged a 2.2 adults 18-49 rating, according to Nielsen overnights, finishing third in its 9 to 11 p.m. timeslot with new host Billy Ray Cyrus.
The show did see a slight improvement from 9 to 10 p.m., rising from a 2.1 to a 2.2. But it was a distant fourth at 9 p.m. and vaulted into second at 10 only because ABC took a dive with the second episode of “The Mole,†which averaged a mere 1.6 rating.”

“Craig is a great guy. He graduated a year ahead of me but we were in the same fraternity together so we had good times together. He crashed my wedding (not that I minded). As soon as I saw his face in a comercial, I knew it was him. I hope he stays on the show for a long time because he is absolutly histerical.”

“ABC’s “The Mole†had an inauspicious return after a four-year absence last night, finishing third in its timeslot and losing a good deal of its “Bachelorette†lead-in.
“Mole†averaged a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating at 10 p.m., according to Nielsen overnights, well behind timeslot leader NBC’s 2.9 for game five of the Stanley Cup finals. It was also behind a 2.6 for a repeat of “CSI: Miami†on CBS.
The series, making its first appearance since a celebrity edition in 2004, also lost 21 percent of “Bachelorette’s†2.4 lead-in at 9 p.m., dropping ABC well behind the leaders on an otherwise fairly competitive evening.
“Mole” was ABC’s second attempt at reviving a long-dormant reality series this summer. “Bachelorette” has also put up middling numbers in its return. ”
