“Ever since Survivor became a big hit in the summer of 2000, there have been people who have claimed that reality TV is the of civilization… and ever since The Mole debuted in January 2001, there have been a lot of sentences that begin with, “I don’t usually watch reality TV but…”"

“Lovely ex-UFC ring card girl Ali Sonoma will soon be a contestant on ABC’s The Mole. Ali Sonoma, once engaged to UFC Diego Sancehz, recently moved to LA in order to pursue acting and modeling (judging by her pics she shouldn’t have much problem there). We’ll see if reality television jumpstarts her career.”

Article: ABC slowly releases details about new Mole

Posted on May 9, 2008 at 9:50 am by spamgirl

“ABC’s strategy to generate interest in the highly anticipated return of The Mole seems to be to drip out a little bits of information at a time. Since March, the network has been flashing the show’s logo at the end of promos for other shows, although now they’re finally airing a real promo.

In a press release last week, ABC revealed four cast members’ names and “mini-bios,” which are also on ABC’s web site, along with video introductions to each contestant. Four more contestants were revealed today. ”

Article: Ali Sonoma To Appear On ABC’s “The Mole”

Posted on May 6, 2008 at 10:14 am by spamgirl

“Without a doubt, MMA fans are a very “what have you done for me lately” kind of bunch. Betray their trust or put up a stinker and they may never forgive you. So, you can imagine my surprise when someone sent me a tip that former UFC Octagon girl Ali Sonoma would be appearing on the fifth season of ABC’s “The Mole.”

When Sonoma and the UFC parted ways at the end of 2007, she told everyone who would listen that she would be back in the limelight sooner rather than later. Of course, most believed that would be modeling at some car expo in Ohio. Au contraire, she has landed the biggest non-UFC gig of any Octagon girl.”

Posted on March 30, 2008 at 9:40 pm by spamgirl

“The identity of “The Mole” is still a secret, but the name of the show’s new host can be revealed: Jon Kelley.

Kelley, a former weekend anchor for “Extra,” replaces original “Mole” man Anderson Cooper. Cooper, an unknown at the time of the show’s 2001 debut, is now a key CNN primetime anchor.

It’s believed ABC is planning to air the new “Mole” Mondays at 10 p.m., starting May 26. Skein will likely be paired with another Alphabet reality revival, “The Bachelorette,” which is being eyed for a possible May 19 debut.”

Article: ABC’s Subliminal Advertising Calls You Back to Anderson Cooper’s Old Show

Posted on March 21, 2008 at 8:16 pm by spamgirl

“That wasn’t your television breaking down during last night’s Lost. Just ABC’s marketing department trying to get your attention.

Oh, you didn’t catch it? At the end of at least three commercial breaks, just after the quick promos for other ABC shows aired and just before the screen flipped back to Lost, a millisecond blast for The Mole showed up.

You may have seen that The Mole’s thumb print or logo appear. An ABC spokesperson confirms to us those “flash teases” – they don’t want to call it subliminal advertising – were not a figment of your imagination, and that they will show up again as the network moves forward with plans to relaunch the show.

Perhaps you’ll also find yourself suddenly hungry for some Orville Redenbacher and a Coke.”
