Article: Mole fans plan to send lemons to ABC to save a show that should be allowed to just die

Posted on August 6, 2008 at 12:09 pm by spamgirl

“With one episode of the show to go, fans of The Mole are attempting to organize a campaign to save the show by sending lemons to ABC. The show’s producers are already campaigning to save their series because, as ABC’s president told me, the show will likely be cancelled because its ratings have failed to increase.

Fans plan to join fans of other endangered series by sending things to the network in an attempt to annoy them into submission; in this case, they’re sending lemons with (sad) faces drawn on them. They’re a reference to an episode in which Paul drew a face on a lemon and turned it into a mascot. ”

Press Release: SIXTH EXECUTION ON “THE MOLE” WAS KRISTEN WILLEUMIER’S; NEXT EPISODE AIRS MONDAY, JULY 14, ON ABC

Posted on July 3, 2008 at 8:19 am by spamgirl

Kristen Willeumier of Santa Monica, CA, became the sixth player to leave “The Mole” during last night’s episode. “Episode 506″ airs MONDAY, JULY 14 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET), following a one-hour special that recaps the show to date and features never-before-seen footage, entitled “The Mole: Take a Closer Look” (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network. Jon Kelley (”Extra,” “The National Sports Report,” “Baseball Today”) is host.

Editor’s Note: “The Mole” is preempted on July 7.

In the new hour, only one woman remains in the group of six. And the players are forced to go to great heights, facing their most terrifying mission yet, in order to earn a much-desired exemption from execution.

The six players remaining on “The Mole” are:
Alex (Haverford, PA)
Clay (Philadelphia, PA)
Craig (San Diego, CA)
Mark (Mukwonago, WI)
Nicole (Chicago, IL)
Paul (Yonkers, NY)

KRISTEN WILLEUMIER
Age: 35
Occupation: Neuroscientist
Santa Monica, CA
Education: PhD, UCLA

Kristen said that, because she is tall, blonde and beautiful, no one ever thinks she could be a neuroscientist. She is currently conducting research to find a cure for Parkinson’s Disease at UCLA. Kristen grew up in an upper-middle class family in the Midwest, showed horses competitively and also dabbled in modeling. She thought that competing her entire life as an equestrian and a scientist made her hone skills that would serve her well in the game. She believed her athleticism and her naturally strategic mind would also be assets. Her best trait, she felt, is her kindness, and her worst, that she’s a perfectionist.

“The Mole” is produced by Stone & Company Entertainment. In the final dramatic episode, the “Mole” will be revealed and one of two final players can win up to $500,000.

On Tuesday, Liz talked to Reality TV World about her thoughts on several of the players still remaining in the competition; why she wasn’t surprised to see Nicole threaten to “kill” Paul; how she was serendipitously cast for the show; and why her love of fart jokes doesn’t mean she has a dirty mouth.”

Her spunkiness couldn’t save Liz Cain of Whitefish, MT, from being the second player “Executed” on “The Mole” at the end of last night’s episode. The third episode airs MONDAY, JUNE 16 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. Jon Kelley (”Extra,” “The National Sports Report,” “Baseball Today”) is host.

In the new hour, “Episode 503,” the players roam through the streets of Santiago in their underwear, begging for clothes — for Ali, Kristen and Victoria, their highlight was getting marriage proposals from whistling workers. And — big surprise — Paul picks a fight at the dinner table.

The 10 players remaining on “The Mole” are:
Alex (Haverford, PA)
Ali (St. Louis, MO)
Bobby (Philadelphia, PA)
Clay (Philadelphia, PA)
Craig (San Diego, CA)
Kristen (Santa Monica, CA)
Mark (Mukwonago, WI)
Nicole (Chicago, IL)
Paul (Yonkers, NY)
Victoria (Bishop, TX)

LIZ CAIN
The Spunky Grandma
Age: 60
Occupation: Retired
Education: Associate’s Degree, New Mexico Tech.

Liz has more energy than people half her age. She lives life to the fullest and does not let age stand in her way and doesn’t hesitate to shock people with her raunchy sense of humor. Liz is a widow. When her husband passed away, she decided to adopt two children and raise them on her own. She has an 18-year-old daughter, a senior in high school, and a 20-year-old son in the army who recently gave her a grandchild. Her son may be deployed to Iraq at any time. She suffers a bit from an empty nest, so she was eager to have this adventure bring some excitement into her life.

“The Mole,” based on the hit Belgian format, is produced by Stone & Company Entertainment and follows a group of players as they try to figure out who among them is The Mole, a saboteur trying to keep them from winning money. Players must decide who they think The Mole is and then learn as much about him or her as they can because, at the end of each one-hour episode, the player who knows the least about The Mole is immediately “Executed” from the game. In the final dramatic episode, The Mole is revealed and one of two final players can win up to $500,000.
